During this period of physical distancing and staying at home, I’ve been trying to get on track in all the aspects of my life that have been neglected over the past few years. A lot of it has been prep work and planning and just getting my mind into the right place … so I’m sure it didn’t look like much to the average person. But it’s all starting to come together now. I’ve been getting organised, developing daily habits, using tools like Nirvana, Evernote, and my Wii Walking video game, to help me.
This week I added a weekly task for Saturdays to plan my week of healthy meals and then pick up the groceries. It’s really the only big thing I have in my schedule for Saturday. So yesterday I used a website called Lighter to put together some recipes and plan the week. The site also creates a grocery list based on your recipes, which i then used to order from PC Express. Today I will start following my meal plan and batch prep/ cook all the things I need to make this week’s meals happen super easy, so I never get hungry and eat something full of sugar, fat, salt and chemicals, just because it’s there and easy to put into my mouth … or worse … order delivery because it’s easier than cooking for myself.
I’m pretty excited by this and feeling really inspired to eat lots of kale, mixed greens, brown rice, sweet potatoes, a variety of beans, and other deliciousness. It’s going to be a great week! And it’s all starting this morning with a hair cut! Yes, my stylist is back! And goodness I missed her more than anyone! 🙂
